Fortier Class of 1963’s 60th Reunion Scheduled!

After the huge success of Alcee Fortier Class of 1963’s 75^th Birthday Party in July 2021, your Reunion Committee has scheduled our 60th Reunion for the weekend of October 21-22, 2023.  Don’t miss this one!

Desi Vega’s Seafood • Prime Steaks
We received many compliments about the great food that The Elms served us back in 2021.  To maintain The Class of 1963’s tradition of combining camaraderie and fun with delicious food, we have signed a contract for an unforgettable dinner (menu below) on Saturday, October 21, 2023, 5:30 pm. This will be at the acclaimed Desi Vega’s in Metairie’s Heritage Plaza Building, 111 Veterans Blvd.  We obtained a tax-and-gratuity-included price per person of $80.  This is truly a bargain.  Please help our planning with the restaurant by registering early.

Secure Parking
You’ll be able to park at no charge in the Heritage Plaza Building’s parking garage.  To do so, obtain a parking ticket when entering the garage, take the elevator directly to Desi Vega’s first-floor entrance, and have the restaurant stamp your parking garage ticket.

Sunday Breakfast or Brunch Option
For those interested, there will also be a breakfast or brunch in Metairie on Sunday, October 22.  A specific location and time are yet to be determined.  Those who choose to attend it will pay out of pocket.

On a sad note, we have lost our inspirational friend and webmaster Ben Mathews.  Ben passed on December 23, 2022.  He loved us all in Class of ’63.  Our local Reunion Committee members attended his funeral, and I was honored to speak for all of us. Because we now lack Ben’s webmaster skills and communication skills, some classmates might not receive this reunion announcement.  Therefore, please help us by checking with friends and forwarding this 60th Reunion information.
